rachael pixie kruczynski A friend played some of this for me and this is not what I usually listen to... it kind of is... as it very much reminds me of The Dresden Dolls. And the lyrics (I an 1000% a lyrics girl) plus the astonishing piano... I was kind of staring out a window at a gorgeous landscape, lost in the story this -- what I can only call a concept album -- tells. And it is a gorgeous take, Entirely worthy of appreciatiom.

FROM FIVE UNTIL SEVEN Baby, we won’t refrain From tasting the good Champagne, Let’s us raise the bar And have some caviar. . . Speaking of things delish, You are my favorite dish! From five until seven, it’s gonna be just like Heaven, Gonna be everything we wish. The French say “cinq à sept” Is the time for this tete-a-tete, Let’s us live the dream And be what the French call so “intimes,” Free to dive for charms, And free from our fears and harms, From five until seven, it’s gonna be just like Heaven, Oh, my darling, inside your arms, Oh, my darling, inside your arms. © Duncan Christy

Later 03:45
Later My heart’s beginnin’ to pound, Pumpin’ in overdrive, The reasons are perfectly sound: I’m meetin’ you at 5. Can’t keep my mind on the job, My thoughts are all askew, My head’s beginnin’ to throb With all of the things that we could do, Champagne corks that we undo, A love affair that’s just like new. . . Always all nerves Before the play starts, Will we give our parts The touch each deserves? Baby! I’m ready to run And to have me some fun. Ready to take the bedroom by storm, Ready to show that I can perform, Babe, it is just me – or is it gettin’ warm? My foot’s beginnin’ to twitch, This game is overdue, I guess you could say it’s an itch To be somewhere with you. Not just an everyday Joe, Not with the plans today, So how long before I can blow? How long before it’s time to play? Before I see your lingerie? Before I hear you say, “Entrez. . .”? Like a racehorse Who frets at the gate, Who paws and can’t wait To go full speed on this course: Baby! I’m ready to ride To prove I’m bona fide. Champing to be my girl’s thoroughbred, Champing to be in her thoroughbed, You and me, Darlin’, we’re comin’ out ahead!

Fricking 03:20
Fricking Ticking, ticking, ticking, ticking, That’s the sound inside my brain, All this ticking, all this fricking Business driving me insane, Pressure, pressure, worry, worry, There’s always too much to do, The only speed is hurry, hurry, If you don’t produce, you’re through. . . What the boss said, what the boss did, Why’s her nose so out of joint? With each hour I’m more exhausted, Wondering: What is the point? Why does life seem so relentless, Isn’t there a moment’s peace? Need to vent but here it’s ventless, Here all I do is decrease, Here it’s all a daily hounding, Here anxieties abounding, The only sound that is resounding Is the sound of my head pounding! Is the sound of my head pounding! Is the sound of my head pounding! Stop! Stop for God’s sake! When in this daily living, when am I free? Free to undress the very center of me? Free to express myself, free just to be? Free. . . Where in this daily living, where is release? Where is the Magic Kingdom where worries cease? Where is there privacy, where is there peace? Where? Where lovers hold each other endlessly, Feelings can revive, There’s such a thing as ecstasy And life comes alive, And life comes alive! Everyone is always rushing, Frenzy is the common pace, Everything is always crushing Any sense of ease or grace, The pressure in my head’s infernal, Wound as tightly as a drum, Banging with a hand internal On my equilibrium. . . Time for breakfast, time for dinner, Kiss another day goodbye, When am I the lucky winner? ‘Stead of just the one to cry? Life is something of a despot Ordering this daily grind, Gee, who wouldn’t like a respite And before I lose my mind? Instead of all this tension ticking, All this aimless double-clicking, It’s my soul that life is nicking, Fricking ticking clicking nicking! Fricking nicking clicking ticking! Stop!  Duncan Christy

Kiss, Kiss, Kiss! Excuse me, miss, Wouldn’t you like to kiss, kiss, kiss? We tell each other so much with our lips, Taking the temperature of our desire, Faintest of pressures and how the heart skips! How all it wants is the chance to fly higher! Excuse me, miss, Wouldn’t you like to kiss, kiss, kiss? The brush of your fingers, the brush of your hair, The fragrance you’re wearing, the way that you taste, All of them make me completely aware Of what it feels like to be so embraced. . . Excuse me, miss, Wouldn’t you like to kiss, kiss, kiss? Kiss you for hours, Gain superpowers, Treat every part of you like a bouquet of flowers, Kiss you like mad, Clad or unclad, The pleasure of having you and being had. . . Excuse me, miss, Wouldn’t you like to kiss, kiss, kiss? Here is the theory we wish to explore: That no two kisses are ever the same, Of this activity, more is more When a seduction’s the name of the game. . . Excuse me, miss, Wouldn’t you like to kiss, kiss, kiss?  Duncan Christy

Love’s Banquet In so much of every day The emphasis is on a need for speed, Slow is unproductive! And can make it hard to compete. But later, when it’s time to play In a realm where passion is the creed, Slow is so seductive! And can sweep you off of your feet. (Take your time to let love climb. . .) When you take your time, Then you summon love’s muse, Then you fuel desire Into growing, When you say that I’m Here to handle love’s fuse, Then you stoke a fire Into glowing. Then it’s ablaze! Then it’s aflame! Then it’s a rumble and roar, Then it’s a craze, Then it’s a game, Then it’s a tumble of more and more and more. . . Succulent in every way, That would be the banquet of our dreams, And who would think of rushing? Who think of dining in haste? Love gives us the same buffet, From soup to nuts, from paté to ice creams, Full of flavors gushing, Full of its ladle of taste. (Be the star of your boudoir. . .) When you take love slow, When you nibble and sip, Tiny, tiny bites, So fulfilling, When the tongue can go On a marvelous trip, Aiming for delights, It’s so thrilling! The flavor of you Is all that’s required Making lovemaking a meal, The savor of you Is all that’s desired To make the ideal the real. . . This splendid meal. . .

Slow Blues 04:11
Slow Blues Girls don’t like to sing the blues About an unignited fuse, Nor to voice a sad lament ‘Bout what should be Heaven sent. . . So, here’s the lowdown, Baby, when you slow down And you really take your time, You increase the chances That your advances Are all goin’ to add up To ring my chime! Sweet things that are moist and dense Take the right ingredients, And a loving hand so sure And the perfect temperature. . . Just like nooky, When you bake a cookie, You’ve got to have the touch with the heat, Red-hot lovin’ Needs a red-hot oven, Then everything you’re bakin’ is somethin’ sweet! Shutting out the world so we’re really alone Is more than just a matter of muting your phone, It’s leaving your distractions elsewhere And bringing your best presence to share. . . When we are alone, nothing enters your mind But the thought that we - and we alone - are entwined In the push and pull of love’s act, In the promises of love’s pact: When I put my lips on yours, It’s going to open doors To marvelous amours. . . You don’t need advanced degrees To try your special girl to please, You don’t need to be Einstein To make that girl feel exceptionally fine. . . Destinations, Baby, take some patience, You don’t want to get there too fast, The real love potion Is some real slow motion So when you finally get there, it will last and last, Last and last, (Not so fast), Make love last! © Duncan Christy

This Close 03:29
This Close This close: the curve of your shoulder, This close: the curve of your cheek, This close: the curves make you unique. This close: the touch of your fingers, This close: the touch of your skin, This close: your touch makes me want in. Here we’re free to explore far and wide, You and me, core to core, so inside. . . This close: I hear you breathing, This close: I hear you sigh, This close: There’s you and there’s I. Undisturbed, unrestrained, on our own, We own this space, we own this time, we own this zone. And when we come this close, And there is nothing else but you, And there is nothing else but this, Then there is nothing else but ecstasy, Darling, In your touch and kiss. This close: Love has a rhythm, This close: Love has a groove, This close: It’s in your every move. Undisturbed, unrestrained, on our own, We own this space, we own this time, we own this zone. And when we come this close, And there is nothing else but you, And there is nothing else but this, Then there is nothing else but ecstasy, Darling, In your touch and kiss. And when we come this close, And there is nothing else but this, And there is nothing else but you in my arms, Oh, my love. . . Oh, my love. . . Oh, my love, I see And feel and taste and touch for a moment All your ecstasy. . .

Really Lingering There’s no part of you That I can’t explore, that I can’t kiss, That I can’t press all my fingers and my lips to, All I have to do Is drift in this atmosphere of bliss, Is give myself To be drunk with the taste of you, You and I, we are really lingering, Taking all the time in the world For the tiniest thing. . . There’s no part of you That I can’t adore, can’t memorize By sight and by touch, No part I leave uncaressed, All I have to do Is open my heart and close my eyes To feel what it is To be by amour possessed, Lingering, we are really lingering, In our orbit we turn and spin, Tightly, tightly we cling. . . Really lingering, really lingering, In a pleasure so pure, Really lingering, really lingering Is a treasure so sure, Really lingering, really lingering On our private express, Really lingering, really lingering In this sensuousness. . . There’s no part of me That isn’t completely next to you, That doesn’t adhere To all of your thoughts and skin, Love is like a sea In which we are bathed and we imbue Each moment with Tenderness, and the living in, Lingering, we are really lingering, You and I are our everything. . .

The More That You Love CHORUS: The more that you love, the more you can love, The more that you give, the more you can give, The more you embrace what love’s made of, The more that you love, the more that you live. In a world of conflicts, consternations and woes, Where too many people choose to be foes, How are we to heal them from their discords? And show them love’s rewards? CHORUS: In a world of generals dominated by hates, Who won’t see that suffering suffocates, How are we to heal them while their hate seethes, And show them how love breathes? CHORUS: Love is not a tactic, love is not a tool, Love is not a weapon you bring to a duel, Love is an existence, love is a force, A power, a path, a course. . . CHORUS:

Bedtime, Darling Darling, Darling, come back to bed, Blankets, pillows, your weary head On my shoulder, sleeping instead, Darling, Darling! Longing for you each night and day, Fitful, fretful when you’re away, Counting minutes ‘til you can stay, Longing, longing! When in deepest, darkest night You’re awake restlessly, When it seems you can’t get back to sleep, Staring into endless space, Thinking thoughts A to Z, Listening to the hours and minutes creep. . . I’ll come to you, genie-like, Bidding you close your eyes, While I fill the night with slumber’s dust, All you have to do is breathe, Feel our love hypnotize All of your limbs into rest and trust, Then, my Darling, sleep you must. . . Bedtime, Darling, put out the light, Kiss me, touch me, hold me so tight, Dreaming of you all through the night, Bedtime, Darling! © Duncan Christy

The Naked Truth [VERSE]: In this life What good is solitude? Where’s the thrill Of being alone? What is the upside of no one To run Quick to your side? In this life When you are standing nude Trying to will Away the unknown, Where is the someone to hold dear? Hold near? To share the ride? [CHORUS]: Believe in compromise, Give up to give, How can I defer to you? To see life through your eyes And then to live To build love from two points of view, A love so true, So mutual, it always supplies All the love that you need, All the tenderness, All it takes is compromise! [VERSE]: In this life The pleasure of teasing you, To see your face When I make you laugh, Hoping that I can win your smile So I’ll Know that you care, In this life The pleasure of pleasing you, The warm embrace Of which I am half, That’s how a true love is nourished, Flourished, The love we share. [CHORUS]: Believe in tenderness, Believe in love, Believe love can be your guide, Believe answers are yes To your dreams of Love with arms that open wide, Bring you inside A special place where you can receive All the love that you need, All the tenderness, All it takes is to believe! (He doesn’t notice that She has awakened and has heard much of what He’s sung. During the spare phrases of what would be the next verse, He stands, deeply introspective. He therefore doesn’t hear her as She slips noiselessly behind him. When She touches him lightly, He starts. Perhaps She drapes a hand on his shoulder; perhaps he reaches for it to hold. But clearly they are joined. They then sing the chorus together in a two-part harmony, and possibly eventually four if joined by other singers.) [CHORUS]: Believe in tenderness, Believe in love, Believe love can be your guide, Believe answers are yes To your dreams of Love with arms that open wide, Bring you inside A special place where you can receive All the love that you need, All the tenderness, All it takes is to believe! © Duncan Christy

Three Little Words I wish that I could hear you say, “I love you!”, I wish that I could hear you say, “I care,” Then my heart would sing With all the love I’d bring to you. . . Three little words can mean so much, my Darling, Three little words can leave me so assured, That your love is true When I hear you say, “I love you!” When there’s love inside, It’s like you own the sun Which warmly streams In all directions about you, Take that sun inside And give the world its gleams, Show the world How rich are love’s beams, Richer than wildest dreams! We human beings need so to express love, We wither if we have no chance to give or share, So please don’t deprive Me of the chance to love and thrive. . . Three little words can mean so much, my Darling, Three little words can leave me so assured, That your love is true When I hear you say, “I love you!” “I love you!”
